Here is your GSL School Update for June 25, 2026. Have a great weekend. Hard to believe that next week is July. Reminder the on July 1, this is the official start of the next school year. Grade levels will “roll up” in our student information system. If you had a senior, and that was your last child, you will no longer receive the updates.
GSL Booster Club News
The Treasurer of the GSL Booster Club will be done next June. We are looking for someone to shadow her now and take over in June 2027. We are also looking to add 1 more board member to the GSL Booster Club. If interested, please contact

School Supplies…….yes I know we are still in June but wanted to start letting families know about this opportunity!!
The GSL elementary PTO has chosen to partner with School Tool Box for the opportunity to order pre-packaged school supplies for the next school year! They will be shipped to you at home.

High School Yearbook information: Yearbooks will arrive in September. This is done so we can include all the different spring activities. Class of 2026, if you have a younger sibling, the book will be given to them. Otherwise, the office will email everyone who ordered a book and arrangements will be made to come and pick it up.

Common Cup Ministry will sponsor a “Back to School” Supply distribution again for 2026-2027 school year. Parents must request supplies for their child(ren) by using the official request form or by scanning the QR code. Once you scan the QR code, scroll down to School Supply Assistance and click the “Request School Supplies” Button.
2026 Election Information:
• At GSL, we will be having 3 spots open for the School Board. Filing dates will be coming out shortly. If interested and you want to have your name on the ballot, you will need to register at the District Office sometime between July 14-July 28, 2026.
• The GSL School Board is also in the process and considering having a “revoke and replace” of the current operating levy. In essence, the School District needs more funds to keep programs and staff around. You will be hearing much more about this in the weeks and months ahead as we plan and get the information out. Remember that this election is an operating levy, which doesn’t tax agriculture land and season recreational property. Much more on this later!!
• The State of Minnesota is also having constitution amendment vote on how the “Permanent School Fund’s” dollars are distributed to schools. This is a positive move for schools because this fund already exists and if passed, more of the funds that it generates can go to school without raising any taxes. See below on how the ballot will be read in November:
“Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to increase the funding going to all school districts from the permanent school fund, which is a fund that supports school districts without raising individual income or property taxes, effective July1, 2027.”
It is important to note that if this ballot question is left blank, it counts as a “no” vote.
